It seems like I just can’t win in this economy. At least not in my job as the travel agent at a Fortune 500 company. I’ve got so many people that I need to send all over the place for business travel, and the accountants at this company are always on my case to reduce costs. Well with a conference coming up that will involve me sending all the VPs and their assistants to another state, I can’t believe how high the cost of plane tickets has risen! It’s absurd, too, because I wouldn’t dare send some of these folks coach, they’d try to throttle me! In my opinion they are way too spoiled anyway, but it’s not my money. So I did some research and it turns out that a private jet charter will cost less to transport all 12 people to Washington, DC, than buying separate plane tickets. Now it’s just a matter of me choosing the right company. If ticket prices stay at this level, I’ll be using private all the time.

One afternoon, while I was booking cheap flights to Alicante, the receptionist suddenly handed me a glossy paper that really left me aghast. You might be curious what it was. Well it was just a brochure, nothing much. What caught me off guard is the picture of someone in it. And you guess it, it was my ex-fiance.
All of a sudden, I felt like I was this helpless girl who was left alone in the Altar, wondering why he couldn’t at least show up and tell me he’s being chicken. He is now rich, owning expanse after expanse of real estate properties in Spain. He had that handsome smile on his face that told me everything there is to assume about his life. He appears happy, contented as if leaving me in the altar was the best decision he’s ever made.
I turned for my flight, and tears came down like rain.
